Your feet are the foundation of everything you do as a dancer. Every relevé, every landing, every balance, every jump... it all starts from the ground up.
When the foot and ankle aren't working well, nothing above them works the way it should either. Technique suffers. Injuries creep in. And no matter how much you train everything else, that weakness at the base keeps pulling you back.
And yet, for some reason, the foot and ankle is the most neglected area in dance training. There are programs for extensions, for turns, for flexibility but almost nothing that takes the foot seriously as a system that needs dedicated strength, mobility, and flexibility work all at once.
Most of what exists is either generic or passive stretching routines that miss the bigger picture entirely.
The Foot & Ankle Foundations Program changes that. Here's how:
You don't need more generic exercises, you need more of the right ones. This program targets the intrinsic foot muscles, ankle stabilisers, and calf complex that control your relevé, support your arch, and keep your foot articulate and strong through every movement.
You'll train the full system, not just one piece of it. With exercises that develop plantar flexion strength, dorsiflexion mobility, and the balance between the two, you'll build feet that move freely, load safely, and recover well from the demands of training.
You don't need hours of training to see results. With focused, dance-specific sessions just 2 times a week, you'll build the strength, control, and resilience that actually makes a difference in your relevé, your landings, and how your feet feel after a long day in the studio.
Hi, I'm Monica - a former professional dancer who became obsessed with the parts of training the dance world consistently gets wrong.
Growing up dancing, I struggled for years to get on pointe. My calves were always tight, my ankles felt stiff no matter how much I stretched, and no one could really explain why, or give me anything more useful than "just keep stretching." I did everything I was told. It didn't work. What I didn't know then was that stretching alone was never going to be enough, because the problem wasn't just tightness. It was a lack of the right kind of strength, control, and balance between the structures that make a healthy, functional foot.
After my dance career, I dedicated the last 10+ years to understanding exactly why so many dancers struggle with their feet and what actually works to fix it. The dance world is decades behind other sports when it comes to foot and ankle conditioning, and dancers are paying the price in stiff ankles, overuse injuries, and pointe readiness that never quite arrives.
I created the Foot & Ankle Foundations Program because I've seen the same story play out hundreds of times: dancers who stretch religiously, stay consistent, and still feel like their feet are holding them back. The missing piece is almost never more stretching. It's targeted strength, genuine mobility, and learning how to balance plantar flexion and dorsiflexion the way your feet were designed to work.
With 20 years of dance and strength & conditioning experience behind this program, I'll help you build feet that are strong, mobile, and resilient - whether you're working toward pointe, coming back from overuse, or simply want feet that feel as good as the rest of your training demands.

Absolutely! Most sessions take just 20–30 minutes, and the program includes 2 workouts per week, each one carefully designed to target the muscles that matter most for strong & flexible feet. You’ll focus on ankle mobility, intrinsic foot strength, and skill-specific exercises that build strength, stability, control & flexibility. You’ll also get clear guidance on how to integrate the training without overtraining in the"How to Use This Program" section.
Not much! You'll need two yoga block, a long resistance band, a loop band, a softball, and a chair. That’s it, everything can be done at home or in the gym, no fancy equipment required.
Most dancers start noticing real changes in 3–4 weeks with consistent practice - things like a fuller, more controlled relevé, less tightness in the calves after class, and better ankle stability on one leg. Long-term strength and mobility continue to develop over time, but this program is designed to build those improvements week by week, with a clear, structured approach that targets the exact structures behind strong, resilient feet.
